About The Paradiddler

The Paradiddler and his kit

The Paradiddler is a blog about drums and all things drumming.

Many web sites abound on the Internet that will give you drumming lessons, teach you about technique, etc.  This site does not purport to be a site about lessons, because really, there are a lot of them (and good ones!).  Rather, TheParadiddler.com is more of an observer – both of other drummers, and of the author’s experience, and to provide insights from these observations.  Every drummer (and musician for that matter) has something to offer, whether a novice or a professional.  The Paradiddler aims to provide a forum for the full spectrum of musicians.

Here are just some of the many useful features you’ll find at TheParadiddler.com:

  • Insightful editorials
  • Product reviews
  • Interviews
  • Educational articles
  • Drum covers
  • Instructional videos
  • …and much more!

By presenting these many angles of not only drumming, but music in general, it is the hope of TheParadiddler.com that the reader can take away something that may inspire them to try new things, and to expand their view of music even beyond the drum kit.

There are several ways to keep track of what The Paradiddler is up to:

  • Free newsletter (the best way)
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • YouTube

Check out the sidebar for the above and connect yourself to the best drumming blog on the Internet.  🙂

As far as The Paradiddler himself, Omar Alvarado, feel free to read the three-part series, The Paradiddler – Origins.  See how his love for drums grew from a very young age, and how that eventually became TheParadiddler.com.  And below, you’ll find The Paradiddler’s current kit, in video form.

And of course, there’s you. If you have anything you‘d like to see covered on this site, feel free to contact Omar Alvarado (contact info. in sidebar).  If you have a product you’d like reviewed or if you want to contribute an article, contact us and we’ll let you know the prerequisites.

In the meantime, keep on drumming, and for crying out loud, have fun!

Hello Omar,

This is a terrific site! Please consider adding a link to my company’s website. http://www.lousondrums.com

We are a small custom cajón company from Pittsburgh, PA. Our flagship product, the CajónTab, is a small and portable cajón with a shoulder strap.

Please take a look and if you like, feel free to get in touch with me via our contact page. I would love to send you a CajónTab for a review. Thanks!

As being the brother of the Paradiddler I can honestly say that I do not know many people which such a passion for drumming as my brother possesses. I encourage anyone and everyone to join in and experience the world of drums for yourself.

Vader!
